So just a quick update on my husband, he came home on Friday last week in a lot of pain still and since then he has had so many visitors, he is due to go back to work tomorrow which I think he is looking forward to however whilst he was off he watched the whole first seres of the Wire and I think he would quite like a second week off to watch the next series.

I am very excited as today is Bank Holiday Monday and I get to watch one of my favourite day off show Homes under the Hammer basically you get to see a house go to auction and then find out what happens to it next, they are mainly bought by property developer so it nice to see the makeovers, it especially interesting as we now looking in to buying our first house, to live in though not to sell on.

So I am waiting at home to find out when Jon will be released from the Hospital, at least I get to play with the new laptop some more, I did offer to go into work but my boss wouldn't let me she has even offered to pick us up from the hospital, however I think I we will more likely get a cab. So yesterday afternoon Jon called me at work and asked me to come home as he had a really bad stomach ache, after a bit of ribbing at work I went home and we decided to head over to the A&E department as we thought he may have an Appendicitis after meeting like a hundred doctors we found out we were correct, mainly thanks to my Mum's coaching as a child, he had to stay overnight and today they operated on him he is still there now and will be home hopefully tomorrow, I can't believe how quickly they acted and how much time I have sent in the hospital the last few days, work have been really good and my boss has even offered to collect me and Jon tomorrow.

New Computer

Hooray we have finally got a new computer which likes the new Itunes its all very exciting, I discovered last week that the new Itunes need twice as much Ram as our old Computer had so no wonder it broke. We were advised by the computer expert that the new computer we bought is too good for what we want to use it for, but you have to plan for the future so we bought it anyway, I can also now start using my camera again for photos all is good, also hope to have more time to post here as well, as new Internet is super fast.

So I haven't posted in ages because I have been stuck down with flu/ cold and have not been very well, for the first week all I could manage was to go into work send a few emails and go home to bed I am feeling a lot better now but three weeks on I still have a slight cough which is not fun, I must be boring people as I keep telling them that normally I am never ill normally in the whole time I have been with Jon, seven years, I can only recall one Christmas when I was sick like this, and now I know why because being ill is horrible, I am trying to be more positive now though as it was only a cold and I hope to start blogging again because I have missed it. So I decided the book I was going to take on Honeymoon with me was Riders as it is my favourite all time book and it meant I could relax and enjoy. I finished the book once I got back and have since then been slowly making my way through all the Jilly Cooper Rutshire Books seven in total. I am now feeling quite sad as I have finished them all and her next book is not due to be released until 2010. The worrying thing about this is that I could quite easily start reading them all now again, although I think I will treat myself to Riders as my Birthday present to myself next year when I turn the dreaded 30.

My boss has given me a free ticket to The Country Living Fair which i am planning on going to today I am quite excited as it looks like it will have loads of nice stuff to look at and hopefuly we maybe able to get a few freebies, including free wine tasting, I am going to take Becky with me as Jon is at the Football and I don't think it is really his things, I just hope he won't mind when he gets back later and finds our flat turned into a Country Fair Stall!

I am very excited as today Becky and I are going for a spa day, we have never been on one before so it is quite exciting we have got a back massage and manicure book in and we can use the pool and sauna. The spa day was a present from our day for Christmas and it will be my first day off this year. We might even go for a cocktail afterwards.

So I have been really excited for the last couple of weeks because my favourite singer Jewel was due to be on Dancing with the Stars, and as its shown in the UK I was guaranteed to see her competing. Then sadly last week she had to pull out due to knee injury, her replacement however is none other than Holly Madison star of Girls Next Door that my sister and I were a bit obsessed with until recently so now I am really torn as am I really sad Jewel won't be competing but quite pleased Holly will, although to be fair Holly wouldn't make me want to watch the whole show.

I was upset to discover after making strawberry Ice cream in my blender that it has some how managed to get mould in the base of it, I am trying to pretend this could not have affected the ice cream and have bought a new cheap blender off the Internet which I have to collect from John Lewis later today. Although to me buying kitchen/ homeward is more exciting then new clothes I sadly do not have the space or the money to buy a beautiful big red food processor which i really want, i wasn't even allowed to put one on the wedding list! Instead I have had to make do with a cheap small blender for under £30, my only worry is that it will still be too big for our kitchen.

So I had a really nice time this weekend, on Saturday I got up really early for a weekend 8.30 and went to Westfield the new shopping centre in Shepard's bush, it was really empty and I got just what I wanted and I had a really nice lunch which Becky paid for to boot. In the evening I went for a couple of drinks with Becky before going to a house party which was a bit rubbish but only 5 minutes away from our house, so we had no excuse not to go and then Sunday we went to a cast and crew screening of Lesbian Vampire Killer, one of our new movies, and then got some chores done at home, more about them later.

So I have been trying to start knitting again recently having not done it for about ten years and although I am enjoying creating little knitted creatures Jon has pointed out that although a duck family as an Easter decoration would be nice we have nowhere to store it after Easter, therefore I am waiting with baited breath for one of my Best Friends to give birth so I can knit her baby a jumper, she is due next week and has decided not to find out the sex before she gives birth so I cannot start anything at the moment as I want to make it colour coordinated, it is so exciting but annoying because the baby will probably be to big for the jumper by the time I have finished it.

So I didn't get a Chance to post last week at work as I was really busy, or it wasn't that I was really busy I just made myself busy, tidying the office and updating all our price list which is an ongoing job that will hopefully last all next week, I love my job but I don't always have lots to do, we ahve quiet and busy periods, so if I don't give myself tasks I end up surfing the Internet and that can drag, if I am doing work even if it is menial stuff at least the day goes quicker. I don't normally blog from home, however our computer that has been playing up since we got back from our honeymoon finally broke properly yesterday so we decided to completely restore factory settings, I am now not quite so worried about using it hence the blogging today, sorry its a bit of a ramble.

So yesterday we got approx 20 cm of snow in London which was the biggest snow fall in 18 years, I know that may not sound like a lots but it looked amazing, our office was official shut although me and one of my colleagues made it in, we only really went in the put the heating on so today wouldn't be too cold. And we went home at Lunchtime which meant me and Becky who also got the afternoon off could go for a walk in the park, it was lovely to see so many families building snow men together and enjoying each other company, it really was a nice day to spend with the people you love.

I am very exited as tomorrow the weather is predicted to be heavy snow in London, which means I can wear my new wellington boots to work. Having said I am not buying new things at the moment, we did purchase a picture for the living room at the weekend, we got one of our Honeymoon photos blown up to A1 and put on Canvas it looks really good and was bought with some of the money we were given for the wedding, so it is really a wedding present, we are very pleased with just got to figure our how to hang it now.

Recession

So apparently we are now in the grip of a recession in the UK the first one since 1991. I have to been honest I have not yet been affected by the recession however I am still paying off the honeymoon and think it will be quite a while before I noticed that I cannot afford new things, and considering I can't afford them at the moment I am sure I won't mind too much. It is a sad state off affairs though when most conversations with Friend always end up with you checking that there job is ok! more people seem to be losing their job day by day. So far BTW mine and Jon's are.

I am totally loving the new series of Master Chef, it is TV gold, I always try and work out what I would cook during the first round on the invention test and sadly I don't think any of my concoctions would get me through to the Pressure Test, that said despite the fact that my Grandma always wanted me to be a chef, I have never seen the appeal of working in a restaurant kitchen especially considering the hours you would need put in. I am also not sure what I would cook as my final meal, I some how think that my take on a Nigella Lawson recipe might not be up to Master chef's High Standards.

On Friday I bought Delia's Frugal Food for £6 in Borders it should have been £17.99 naturally I was very pleased with my saving, we happened to be going to Norfolk on Friday night, for my Ftaher in Laws Birthday. So I Carried the book home with me and told my Mother in law all about my bargin as she is a huge Delia Fan, as she was going to Norwich Football Club the next day to watch the match she said she would try and get Delia whom she often seed before the game to sign it, and low and behold my cookery book now has a nice message in it from Delia, its even more of a bargain than I thought it was.

So My Dad gave me an HMV voucher for Christmas and I decided to treat myself to a new Wii game. Naturally after my obsession with Simms Castaway the natural choice was Simms 2 Pets, I have of course almost become addicted to it the only thing holding me back is that if I start playing it I am worried I will not be able to stop. leading to all sorts of problem like if played at night I will then have trouble sleeping or if played in the morning i will be late for work, so I think I need to send Jon to the football next weekend and just spend the whole day playing it to get it out of my system.

Even though I got married 2 months ago now I have only just started work on my Thank you letters, it took us a long time initially as we wanted to get photo cards made and the photographer took a while to send us the image we wanted and then it took a while for them to come after being order and then it was Christmas, as you can see I am benining to run out of excuses so I am now slowly writing them, we ordered 75 cards and I hope we won't need anymore, I want to make them all personal but it is so difficult to think of new things to say, Jon also keeps nagging me about making sure my hand writing is neat, mainly because i do rush things a bit normally. oh well only about 20 more to go.

Christmas and New Year

I had a lovely Christmas this year spent with all three of my families, Jon has however promised that after two years of Christmas Dinners at his parents next year we can spend Christmas day all day with my Family which will be nice although sad for his Parents as his Brother is going to take his little girl and wife to the States to see her family for Christmas. Because of the wedding we all decided to not gone overborad with presents and as a result we all got what we wanted and not lots of odd things we didn't really need.

New Year was also fun, we spent it back in London with the our group of friends we started the night with Champagne cocktails and it really went for there, we ended up int he same pub we saw the new year in last year and by some miracle i didn't have a hangover the next day.

I was sad to hear on the news today that Woolworth's in the UK are closing their last 200 stores today. Coming from a very small town in the middle of nowhere Woolworth's was the only decent place to spend your afternoon and pocket money on pick a mix and records. I remeber buying my first LP Jason Dovanan When you come back to me as a Christmas present for by then best friend from there. My sister and I went into the local woolies on its last day 27th December and I was sadden to see they were even selling Chairs from the staff room and filing cabinets. Its sad the government could not step in to help them and the other companies that have been hit buy their closure like Zavvi.

Cheese and Home

So I am off home today for Christmas and like all family's we have our special traditions I always buy my Step dad Cheese for Christmas from a shop n Covent Garden so I went earlier today to beat the queques to get it for him it is now sitting in the fridge at work I hope I don't forget it. Another traditional is the Christmas supermarket shop, my sister, Step dad and I always go and get any last minute food first thing in the morning on Christmas Eve I think we used to go early because I had to work now its too much of a tradition to avoid. Hair Cut

I am so pleased I have finally got my hair cut, when I told my hairdresser I was getting married last year she told I should grow my hair and from then on she would only give my hair a slight trim every time I saw her so that I was by the time I got married I was mirroring Rapunzel, after the wedding I didn't have time to get my hair cut and so on Saturday I finally managed to see her. I feel a bit like David as I have had at least 3 inches if not 4 inches cut off. Its brilliant.

So nothing was broken yesterday in fact I was actually quite good at the ice skating I think this might have been because the ice was very firm due to the cold weather last time I went it was quite wet, I had a really good time and noone in my group fell over and best of all I got a glass of mulled wine afterwards it was very christmassy. I might even be convined to go again next year.

Hello I feel like I have been away from ages so much has happened since I last posted recently I have put up my Christmas tree and bought a new coat. I have got into the habit at work of listening to Radio 2 and I love it it, even if it does mean I am turning into an old fogey, I think it may have something to do with Steve Wright and Chris Evans as when I was little I used to enjoy waking up to them in the morning, Steve Wright Initially did the radio 1 Breakfast show and he was preceded by Chris Evans before he defected to Virgin, so I suppose what I am trying to say is even though I am listening to an Station aimed at older people it reminds me of when I was young.

I am having a slow work day today and annoyingly this is the third day like this in a row, I'm not sure if this is because there is no work to do or if I am doing the work there is too quickly. I am really excited about going shopping tomorrow I don't know why because I'm not even really planning on spending any money. I think it may be because the weather today is lovely and I expect the weather will be nice tomorrow although I know it won't be. And although I am doing a few bits of wedding shopping I am not even excited because of that, I think it maybe because, I feel like a little child again as when we were little and living in Norfolk we used to come up to London (or Down if you are geographically correct) a couple of times a year to go shopping and it was like a big day out where we would go to all the nice shops and buy sweets. I had the good fortune to get free tickets to see Jersey's Boys last night, it had only been on for about 5 days and already it is really good the cast are really tight and are great performers, the accents and singing voices are perfect I thoroughly enjoyed the show and was amazed by how many songs I new, I didn't realize that they wrote both Bye Bye Baby and You're Just to Good to be True. I think I may have to go again and this time take the parents as they would love it to.

As you may recall me and Jon went to Boston last fall whlist we were there we spotted D list celebrity Mark Durden Smith doing some filming for Wish You Were Here the below link is the resulting program. Jon and half my face is on telly when he is on the red sox tour. He really was stalking us as he ate at two of the resturants we ate at and did all the touristy things we did, it was fun to watch it as its like our own holiday video.

I have got a new hairdresser because my normal hairdresser is going on Maternity leave, I am quite sad about losing my regular hairdresser as we rub along quite nicely, and I like having a chat with her every couple of month. My new hairdresser seems quite nice though and she used foils which is very old school and I think its quite posh, My aunt has foils done and always makes out it is the height of luxury. My hair looks good she has added more layers and she tried to change my parting but I have now changed it back again, the layers are enough for one day. Becky also got her hair cut and she got a fringe which looks great so obviously now I want one, I am considering going home next month and getting one cut myself I think I will see how Becky gets on first though.

Eco Friendly

I am trying to be greener this year and one of the ways I am doing this is to limit my use of plastic bags, I took over a hundred we had in our flat back to Sainsbury's the first weekend in January, however as I bought myself a lovely smaller handbag I do need another bag for work for my lunch and book etc so rather than use a plastic bag which would probably got thrown away at the end of the day yesterday I bought a Twiggy Canvas bag from M&S it is brilliant, i love it and it was only £2.50, I ended up buying two more as presents. Today on my supermarket shop I reused some sainsbury bags for life, I feel I am now doing my bit for the planet.

Weddings

Is it wrong that I am currently more excited about my Honeymoon than the wedding before, this maybe because we only booked it on Wednesday we are going to San Francisco for 4 night, Las Vegas for 2 night and then New York for 4 nights, the hotel are 4 stars although the flight are only economy. I really can't wait we have managed to set up a wedding list for the honeymoon as well so people can give us money to do excursions like helicopter trips, the only worry I have is that Jon who is not keen on flying or heights will do one Helicopter flight and hate it and we will still have two more to do. Wedding plans are also coming on well, Becky gets to try on Bridesmaid dresses tomorrow, and yesterday I ordered a humorous wedding cake topper off the confetti website, as far as I am concerned this is obviously the most important thing to do.

New Office

I am currently sitting in my New Office which is very nice however there is so much to do I do not know where to start so of course instead of doing anything I have decided to write a blog, I was very organised this morning but somewhere along the road of this afternoon I have really lost my way. I have so far managed to make a list of what I want to do and I may make a start in a minute once I've checked facebook.

We took the Christmas tree down yesterday which I am sad about, Jon is pleased though as he feels we have got the flat back to normal. This weekend we have been de-cluttering the flat and have managed to fill three bin liners full of old clothes to be fair they are mainly Jonathan's I do feel slightly sorry for whoever has to sort them at the Charity shop as there is some real crap in there. I have put two of my Dad's Christmas presents to use this weekend cooking mussels from the cook book he got me last night, and baking bread today in the bread maker he bought me today, it smells quite good but the proof will be in the eating. Not looking forward to work tomorrow as we moved offices last week and we still haven't finished unpacking.

Not quite sure where December has gone I have loads to blog about including a few pictures, we went to New York last week for 3 days, full write up and picture to follow in New Year, and when we got back bec and I went to the Spice Girls they were amazing. Last week was hectic at work as not only have we been closing down for Christmas but we are also due to move offices so the move needed to be coordinated. I am now back In Norfolk for Christmas and have a total of three different Christmas tree pics on my camera. Looking forward to spending time with the family, I wish you all Happy Christmas and I will try and get some post and photos open here as soon as possible.

I just finished reading the best book called Water for Elephants, its told from the view point of an old man that remembers working on a circus as a young man, it made me wish that I lived in depression era America and had run away to the circus, I am now thinking of asking for the DVD The Greatest show on earth for Christmas as I have never seen it and I think I would like it.

I meant to blog yesterday about all the exciting things I have planned for the next three Tuesdays in a row, however after going on a tour of a facility house for two hours I didn't have enough time to do it, so today I will tell you all about it instead, next Tuesday I am going to stay in a Heathrow hotel as a week today we are going on a family holiday to New York, I can't wait as we have so much planned, which is another blog all in itself, The following Tuesday 18Th I am going to see the Spice Girls at the O2 Arena I am so excited especially as when they first announced there dates I thought I wouldn't get a chance to see them and of course the following Tuesday is Christmas Day, less than three weeks to go now.

I am feeling full of cold today and I have a feeling I may have got man flu, I say this because normally I am never ill and I feel rotten, it obviously cannot be a serious strain as I have come myself into work. Although it is serious enough that I have had to cancel for a second time my steak lunch, mainly because I can't taste anything and I have also lost my appetite. last night we had fatjas for tea and the favours were just to subtle for me. I am trying to stay positive, however there is something fun in being a bit helpless and lying on the sofa asking for drinks and help, Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow.

Went shopping at Lunch time to get my Christmas Cards and some food, whilst in M&S I treated myself to some new tights as I only have three pairs at the moment and its becoming difficult to keep washing them for daily use, however on getting back to the office I have realised I have Picked up XL, I am a SM, so cross with myself as I Will now have to take them back, and its so cold out. Christmas Cards on the other hand are beautiful will have to scan them in to show you later.

I typed a really good post at the weekend about how I was making Mince pies for the first time, and sadly the computer didn't publish it and I lost it, so it has put me off Blogging a bit, anyway I am going to move past it. Today is the first day of celebrating Christmas for me as I am going out with one of my favourite friends for Champagne to celebrate me getting a ring. Tomorrow night Me and Jon are meant to be going Christmas shopping to get him a winter coat and then most excitingly on Saturday we are going for an afternoon of winter drinks, all is very exciting and Christmas feeling.

Mince pies

My Grandma makes the best mince pies in the world, and these pies have forever ruined me for the shop bought variety. Therefore as I will not be seeing my Grandma until Christmas, I have decided to make Mince pies myself. Although this sounds like a good idea, I have already hit on a stumbling block, the main ingredient of my Grandma's mince pies is Lard, and I have to be honest the smell and thought of lard makes my stomach turn. So I am going to attempt to make them with extra butter. I will let you know how I get on.

Its lovely this morning I am still in my PJs and sitting at the computer, I should normally be on the tube on the way to work at 9.00, but I am going on a tour today which means I do not have to leave for at least another half an hour, so I thought good girl that I am that I would check my work emails before getting ready to leave. I have to admit I don't really want to go to work today, I wish it was Friday already, or better still that I have the day off. Well I'd better go and get ready for work or else I will be rushing.

Not sure what exactly has happened at work but suddenly a lot of the people I do work with want to take me out for lunch, on average I go out once a month for Lunch. Every other month is a birthday or special occasion in the office so I normally get taken out by clients perhaps once every two months, However this month I was out once last week, twice this week, and again next week, I have never been in so much demand, I don't know if its because my bosses don't want to go out with the same people all the time so they are passing them onto me or whether its a sign that I am becoming more important in the company all I can say is it is nice to be asked as I am sure come Christmas I will spend many a lunch time manning the office while my bosses get to go to Christmas Lunches.

Just realised my last post was almost four months ago, I don't know where the time has gone, the usual excuses are that work is so busy I don't get time to Blog, and I don't feel like going on the computer when I get home, then there is also my new obsession that is facebook I have currently got 98 friend and most of which I probably have not seen for a good ten years. Anyway I am going to try and update more regularly from now on. So what has been happening in the last four months, I have been to Boston where I got engaged and am now planning the wedding, or correction my Mum is now planning the wedding, life is quite exciting, will have to post Boston pics later. Off to catch up with all of you now. Its nice to be back.

Yesterday we went to Vinopolis in Borough Market to do an afternoon of wine tasting it was great fun although i got slightly sick of wine by the end of the day, i tried lots of wine from around the world and also some sherry and port, it was good fun but not really very informative more of a nice excuse to get drunk, we ended the trip by having a gin cocktail.

I am beginning to get a bit worried as i have become obsessed with the show Girls of the Playboy Mansion i can't believe how addictive the show is, and how much i am routing for Holly to get rid of Kendra and be Heff's only Girlfriend. i love the girls as the seem so nice and happy although slightly stupid. i am even tempted to start watching all the episodes i have missed on you tube, this is seriously worrying, although i do have a tendency towards American reality shows, before i discovered this show i was obsessed with Extreme makeover home edition!

My Fiend Paul got me free tickets to see The Drowsy Chaperone last night i took Becky with me it was so good, i thoroughly enjoyed it, it was a send up of 1920's musicals and had a Elaine Paige in it, when i told Jon about it later he insisted on singing i know him so well to me. the show has a neurotic narrator who talk you thorough the lightweight musical about a wedding. you have to go and see it.

I am being very good today and instead of skiving off and going to a two hour screening i am going to stay in the office and do work, who am i kidding i am only staying here so in theory at lunch i can go and sit in the park and work on my freckles, i am not as a rule a big sun worshipper but this year in would love to make by face look a little suntanned.
